The first locations of Puttery are scheduled to open this summer in Charlotte and Dallas, with a total of seven venues planned by the end of the year. We loved that they have food so you don’t have to leave early to get a meal in, and they have a great selection of food including classic appetizers, a few salads, burgers, entrees like pasta and even dessert. The food menu leans heavy on hearty snacks like lamb sliders and several choices of pizza (food that can easily be eaten in between rounds of mini-golf). This trip marked the first collaboration between Safe Alliance and Carolina Law, and Moran hopes to continue building on this partnership. The experience was particularly meaningful for Moran, who interned with Safe Alliance during her 2L summer and whose sister now works there as a therapist. “It just so happened that this was the project the students wanted to do, and Safe Alliance had availability. It was really cool for me personally, given my history with Safe Alliance.” Moran shared. On the second day of the trip, students had the opportunity to witness the impact of their work firsthand.

They had a good cocktail menu with some themed drinks, and a great beer and wine selection also. One of our favorite parts about Puttery versus traditional courses was the new electronic scoring system. Although I actually prefer paper in general to using electronics, it’s always kind of a pain to carry around the little scorecard and pencil in my pocket and I end up losing it half the time. Drinks are highly encouraged and include a signature cocktail menu with quirky titles like Tasty Green and Coastal Ocean Potion.
If you’re looking for indoor putt putt in Charlotte NC that people of all ages and the whole family can enjoy, check out Monster Mini Golf in the area instead. We had a great time on a Sunday evening and didn’t need to wait for anything. I recommend going anytime other than Friday and Saturday night, as it gets super crowded at these times and you won’t get the full experience. All in all this is one of the best things to do for couples in Charlotte NC, as well as groups of friends, families and even solo travelers. We ended up originally showing up on a Saturday night, and we sat at the bar to get a cocktail and then left after we saw the courses completely full with people, most of whom were standing around waiting to golf.

Over spring break, UNC School of Law students had the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through a pro bono trip to Charlotte, North Carolina. Meghan Moran, director of pro bono initiatives at Carolina Law, led the trip along with Kaitlyn Parker, senior director of student engagement. The group of eight students partnered with Safe Alliance, the domestic violence agency in Mecklenburg County, to assist with their Victim Assistance Court Program. The other 9-hole course named The Library is themed as an academic type space with red carpets. I think if both courses were as easy as the Conservatory, Puttery wouldn’t get as good reviews.
